Before embarking on your road to living a pain free and active lifestyle with Arizona Pain Relief, you may have a few questions and concerns before your new patient exam. We have compiled the most asked questions that many of our patients have before their first visit with APR.

HOW OFTEN DO I HAVE TO COME IN? HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE MY CARE?

Our team is dedicated to your road to recovery and refuse to cut any corners. They will create an individualized treatment plan specifically tailored to the root cause of your pain to not only get you out of pain as quickly as possible, but to get you results that last long-term. Although each patient’s plan is specific for their needs, most people need around 8 weeks or more of care at a frequency of a few visits per week for the body to heal properly and for our team to get you back to living your life pain-free.

WILL I GET AN ADJUSTMENT MY FIRST DAY IN THE OFFICE?

Your first day in the office is an examination day for our team to determine the root cause of your pain. Our team needs to meet and discuss the findings to create a treatment plan specific to you. We would not want to forego any type of action prior to knowing the full extent of what’s the cause of your pain. Full treatment typically begins your second visit in the office which can be as soon as the day after your examination.

IS IT NORMAL TO BE SORE AFTER TREATMENTS?

Sometimes patients are sore after starting treatment. Rest assured this is completely normal and even expected at times. The reason this is such a common occurrence is due to your body experiencing new motions and movements during your treatment. The soreness is similar to how you may feel after exercising at the gym.

HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY VISITS? IS INSURANCE GOING TO COVER THIS?

Our team works with your insurance to determine your financial responsibility. This will be discussed during your second visit, prior to starting your curated treatment plan.

WHAT DO TRIGGER POINT INJECTIONS DO?

These injections go into trigger points, or areas of tension, tightness, and spasm that cause dysfunction and pain. This helps release the tension and increase blood flow to the area, improving range of motion and helping tissues heal themselves. TPIs work well in conjunction with adjustments and exercises to improve overall function and decrease pain.

    WHY DO I NEED X-RAYS?

X-rays may be needed as part of the examination process to aide in viewing specific joint and joint spaces. These diagnostic images help our team of providers determine the underlying cause of your pain. Each of the Arizona Pain Relief locations has an onsite X-Ray unit available for these types of diagnostic images.

DO I HAVE TO SEE ALL THE PROVIDERS?

Our team is integrated, meaning, the Chiropractors, Nurse Practitioners, and Pain Specialists all work together to determine the best approach for your pain relief goals. It is important for everyone on the team to have a chance to meet you and collaborate together to build out a treatment plan that is personalized to treat the root cause of your pain.

WHY IS APR DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CLINICS?

APR believes in the team approach to treating pain. We work together to treat the underlying cause of your symptoms to get you back to living your life, pain-free! We offer a wide range of treatments collaborating with MD’s, NP’s, DC’s, and PT’s – all in one convenient location.

DOES ARIZONA PAIN RELIEF PRESCRIBE OPIOIDS OR NARCOTICS?

APR does not prescribe opioids or narcotic medications, EVER! We believe in treating the underlying cause of pain and not masking the symptoms with a pill. Our clinics use evidence-based treatments to alleviate pain with long lasting results, without using harmful and dangerous opioids.

    WHAT CONDITIONS DO YOU TREAT?

APR treats all types of musculoskeletal conditions including pain from injuries, falls, osteoarthritis, work related injuries, car accidents, or sports injuries.

IF I NEED PROCEDURES, WHERE WILL I GO TO HAVE THOSE DONE?

APR offers a wide range of procedures that can be done in office. However, when more specialized procedures are needed, we also offer multiple conveniently located ambulatory surgical centers throughout the valley.

WILL I RECEIVE ANY MEDICAL EQUIPMENT OR BRACING TO HELP WITH MY PAIN?

Based on your evaluation and symptoms, our team may prescribe various types of medical braces and equipment to help alleviate pain and assist with the healing process while you are outside of the clinic.  These devices will be fitted and provided in-clinic.
