Caitlyn Wells FNP-C

Caitlyn is an Arizona native, but she did spend some time living in Massachusetts and Florida during her teenage and young adult years. From a young age she knew she would be drawn to the medical field. She spent her summers watching the medical drama ER and was fascinated by the medical drama. Fast forward to high school years and Grey’s Anatomy became the next inspiration. Her college years brought her to Palm Beach Atlantic University in sunny south Florida where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. However, Florida was nothing like her home state of Arizona, and Caitlyn always said her goal was to return to the desert and work as a nurse. In 2012 Caitlyn packed up her car and drove to Arizona to begin her nursing career. For the next 8 years she worked as a nurse in cardiac, post-surgical, orthopedics, and medical/observation units in the hospital. It was during this time in the hospitals that she felt the calling to work autonomously with patients so that she could be the one to diagnose and treat them. This inspired her to attend Grand Canyon University and obtain her Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree.

With Caitlyn’s experience in managing patients recovering from major spinal, orthopedic, and general surgeries in the acute care setting, she is not naïve to pain management methods. Unfortunately, this usually involved a lot of narcotics and not enough alternative forms of pain management. Today, Caitlyn enjoys working in pain management and rehab because she can incorporate various aspects of functional medicine that allows the patient to heal themselves. As a migraine sufferer herself, Caitlyn has a lot of empathy for patients in severe pain and continuously seeks to learn new ways of managing migraines from a more natural approach.

Outside of the office Caitlyn enjoys being outdoors swimming, hiking, and camping with her husband and 2 German Shepherd mix dogs. She also enjoys kayaking and sight-seeing in this beautiful state of Arizona.
